How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013152 / WP8547157 Drum Drive Belt

Watched you're repair videos and it was an easy fix. 

I followed the video from Appliance Parts Pros and also replaced the drive belt while I had the dryer apart. 

Pulled off the rear cover of the dryer, and saw that the belt was shredded and left a pile of black rubber dust. The tensioner was completely worn down to the steel sleeve in two sections. I ordered the blower belt, drum belt and tensioner. All arrived in two days and I installed the parts that evening after work, reassembled it and verified function! All is right in the clothes drying world now! The entire process took about an hour and a half. 

Replaced idler pulley assembly and drum belt. Note: idler pulley was the problem. Also replaced foam seal around outlet flow vent on bulkhead. Needs to be replaced if you pull drum. 

Replaced idler arm pulley, drum drive belt, rollers. 

Replaced broken parts bought from Appliance Parts Pros worked perfectly. Also watched video that Appliance parts pros had on line showing how to replace belt, is was very helpful.

Ordered Dryer Repair Kit - replaced all 4 wheels that the dryer drum rests on/rotate on, along with the tensioner pulley and the belt. Job took a couple of hours - 3 or so. Was fairly straight forward, came apart well, went back together fine. I didn't even have any extra parts left over. BEWARE of very SHARP edges while doing this job. No special tools needed. 

Followed the repair video which was well made and did not have any problems repairing the drum seal. Also replaced the drum drive belt since the dryer was 9 years old. I did use a couple of books to place under the front of the drum after removing the bulk head to keep the drum level. This made it much easier to remove and replace the belt on the idle pulley and the motor pulley. When putting on the new drum seal the last 8-10 inches was tight and when trying to pull the seal in place it would slip off the drum. After several tries I took and placed the new seal until the last 8-10 inches and then applied two 12 inch quick grips with rubber tips to each side of the seal that was placed on the drum and then I could pull the last tight part of the seal and place on the drum easily.
