How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005822 / WP21352320 Washer Drive Belt

Ordered tub seal kit and new belt, repaired it myself. make sure you get the unit clocked correctly before installing the springs. 

Acualy sounded and looked major but with a littel help with you tube the job only took 30 minutes. 3 bolts for the water pump pulley broken pulley poped off new one klick into place simple belt install good to go. Parts saved me $40 and where here in only 2 days. I couldnt be happyer. 

I replaced the thrust bearing and pulley. While we were working on the washer we went ahead be replaced the belt and the tub springs. It wasn't difficult to do and our washer works like new!! 

I Googled my model number and your extremely helpful site had the part selector saying the snubber ring was (IIRC) 52% likely to be my problem and the springs 27% likely. I ordered both in the hopes that if I ordered by noon the parts could arrive the following afternoon before the weekend (they were). You provided a video of the repair using my exact washer and it was possible for me to perform the repair safely and effectively, I was very pleased and would recommend you to anyone 

I have to be honest, my brother fixed it for me. He had previously taken the pump off so when the new parts arrived in record speed it took him no time at all.. The hardest part was getting the remaining water out of the washer so he could tip it over to install the parts. Previsously he had gotten most of it out but I was amazed at how smelly 2 inches of water could be after 2 days. It took him less the 15 mins to put on the new pump and belt 

I ordered the snubber ring and fixed the dancing problem following the excellent youtube video you folks provide. I then had an issue with the machine not draining the water during the first spin cycle. It would drain if I put it into an extended or second spin cycle. I went back to your site and did a web chat with Kayla who walked me through different scenarios. finally, we decided to get the additional parts which were a cinch to install because I had either already checked them or uninstalled them during the initial problem. I was able to order the parts and upgrade the shipping (and got them in less than the 1.7 days projected) during the web chat. I had the new parts back in less than an hour and the machine has been running beautifully! I would not hesitate to order from you again and will recommend you to anyone I can. 

I looked at other comments and decided to change out the snubber, and because I had to remove the springs and belt anyways, I decided to change them both. I found that there was quite a bit of white powder around the snubber ring, so it had been wearing down. I will say that it really didn't look like it needed to be changed, but I changed it anyways. As advertised, the springs were not real easy to get out as they were very tight. Also, the new springs were even harder to stretch. For the most part, the only ones that were overly difficult, were the ones in the back that I had to change through the cut-out in the back. It was hard to be get low enough to get my hands inside the cutout, and having to stretch the spring up to attach it. My best advice is to change the springs in the back first to make them as easy as possible. The belt was pretty worn, so I think it was worth replacing. My washer is running smoothy and quietly now and no shaking during spin cycle at all. I'm glad I made the repair the way I did, but I guess you might want to consider just replacing the springs and belt. It's a much easier fix, and would take about 1/2 the time. My biggest suggestion though, is to make sure your washer is level, and re-seat the self leveling legs in the rear by lifting he rear of the washer a couple of inches and dropping it down until it feels solid and level. That actually made the biggest difference and was a free and easy repair. 

Replaced waterpump, 5 minute job. 

Tilt machine back and expose pulleys/belt. Use Dremel tool with friction cutting wheel to carefully cut off old pulley. Place new pulley on shaft. Tap on new pulley with rubber mallet and a roll of electrical tape (Place roll of tape on its side against the pulley and tap on roll with mallet). Place belt on small pulleys and roll onto large pulley clockwise. 

Replaced the water pump and replaced the belt and tensioner spring just as maintenance items.
