How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6022400 / WPW10503278 Refrigerator Electronic Control Board

I replaced the Electronic Control Board. 

We noticed the problem when the fridge was frequently getting too warm. The freezer was cold, but we also noticed that the freezer was TOO cold. Rock hard ice cream, ice cubes that would basically shatter when you poured water on them, etc. I figured out how to force the defrost cycle, and that would work for a bit, but we kept having to do it, and it was becoming less effective. I also noticed the compressor was running all the time. I finally ordered the replacement jazz board after verifying that it was the right model number (thank you APPs.com). I did have to get into the freezer again to thaw out the entire back wall (bottom freezer). I can thank AppliancePartsPros.com for that too because they have videos showing how to access these areas. The part itself, the circuit board, took about 5 minutes to replace, including programming. I'm including the tools and time it took to also defrost the freezer in this description. The board replacement was the easy part. 

Based on other reports about this problem on this fridge on your site, and using the troubleshooting tips provided, concluded the control board was bad. The "How to" video was excellent on how to install the new board. Problem solved! 

I read through other posts that describe folks having similar freezer/fridge issues. It allowed me to diagnose and treat the problem. It appeared I needed a new controller board (next to the lights in the fridge). Ordered the part, and it was delivered quickly. I watched the video on the site that shows step-by-step how to remove the old board and install a new one. I Installed the new part. (only took a screwdriver to push tabs in to expose the old board). After one full night with the new board installed the freezer defrosted the iced-up fins and the fan in the fridge began to pump out cool air. 

Ordered the Electronic Control Board replacement part. Opened the controls section in the fridge. We removed the old Control and snapped in the new. Easy Peasy! 

Info on the website helped me diagnose the problem; that was a big help. Instructions with the new board made it easy to replace and program. Quick and easy! 

I called AppliancePartsPros.com and explained my issue. They suggested that the control board was probably the culprit. Ordered the part. Tried reprogramming the existing control board with no luck. Replaced the Electronic Control Board and everything works correctly. 

After taking apart the freezer and melting the ice built up on the coils along with a good cleaning. The refrigerator still ran constantly. I then replaced the Electronic Control Board as recommended by the helpful program at AppliancePartsPros.com pro and everything seems to be working just fine. 

I purchased the circuit board from your website which was an easy purchase experience and the unit was delivered fast as promised. The how to video was wonderful to walk me confidently through the circuit board replacement process. FYI, I did also go ahead and change the thermistor.
