How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023677 / WPW10662129 Run Capacitor

Took apart the freezer panels. It wasn't exactly like the video but it was pretty darn close. While I did not have the crimper tool and wire stripper. I did have a knife and some heat shrink tubing. I bought the correct tools for the job however. So next time I will be prepared. I will also be buying from AppliancePartsPros.com again. I highly recommend their service. I ordered my parts on Saturday for over night delivery. My parts were shipped on Monday and I got them on Tuesday. Great service overall and saved me 500 bucks which I did not have with all the craziness going on these days. 

Installed a new capacitor. Worked great. It took less than 5 minutes. 

It started popping every so often like a light bulb flaming out. No visible arc or sparks, just an annoying noise at first. Then it got more frequent and louder and then the ice cream got soft. Seemed to be struggling, compressor switching on and off too often. Diagnosis gave me a good excuse to vacuum all the cat hair out of the coils. Changing out the thermal cutout was as easy as changing a light bulb, if you don't count having to crawl in the dark and dust to remove the access panel behind the fridge. Replaced the indicated items and now the ice cream is properly frozen again and all weird noise has stopped. Hooray for The Internet!! 

I replaced the capacitor and Start-Dev switch. Thanks to Appliance parts Pro, and the video on how to do the job, it was an easy and inexpensive fix. I really thought that I was going to have to replace the entire refrigerator. I'm so glad I found AppliancePartsPro.

Replaced capacitor and start device combination 

I had replaced the start device & run capacitor 3-yrs ago with parts from you with similar issues. I ordered just the run capacitor (it just unplugs & plug in new one) and replaced it in about 15 minutes easily. seems to run fine. It took longer to pull fridge out and clean than to replace the part. Thanks for the great video that showed how easy it would be again. 

With the help of your videos it became very clear with my mechanical skills that I could actually fix it! I had already set up for a service technician to come but it was going to be 2 weeks before he could make it. I ordered the suspected parts and installed them without any effort. Refrigerator works like new! It's amazing that with AppliancePartsPros, even my wife could have made these repairs easily! I've forwarded your site to my family to take advantage of and possibly saved them a ton of money. Overall, I estimate I saved almost $200 by doing it myself. You guys are fantastic! 

I called Appliancepartspros.com and explained the problem, they diagnose the problem and sned me the part. Replaced the part in few minutes and it is working fine now. Good thing we have another refrigerator. Great service ! 

About 4 months ago, I had an appliance repair guy out to replace the turntable motor in my microwave. The refrigerator was making the same noise then. He told me to clean off the cooling tubes in the bottom of the refrigerator, and the noise would stop. He told me it was the capacitor next to the compressor. Last week the fridge started making the same noises and it thawed everything out in the freezer. I got online and ordered a new capacitor. It came in 2 days. I replaced the old one and plugged the fridge back in. It works like a champ.
