How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5956390 / W10756692 Control Board

At times the washer completed the wash cycle just fine only to error again on the next cycle. This got to be frustrating so I went online to check for F06 error codes specific to my washer. There I discovered Appliance Pros. After entering my washer brand and model, I went to F06 error code and systematically followed the path to troubleshoot this error code. After performing the necessary checks I determined that most likely cause was the motor control board. I checked the connections to the board and everything seemed fine. I removed it and inspected to see if there was anything visually that might be awry. I decided that I would order a new board considering the guarantee that was in place and cost factor which was reasonable. New board worked perfectly and all is fine with the washer. There is also a $60 core refund once failed board is returned. 

Replaced the MCU

This is a simple breakdown of how I approached my Whirlpool washer repair. 1) Looked up code - told me my motor control unit was faulty 2) Using my model #, I looked up the part I needed. Your online tech, Steven, provided me with an online manual which I read. 3) Watched the short video that you guys provided - very helpful. 4) Ordered the part. It arrived in two days, right in time for the weekend. 5) Repair took me about 20 minutes from start to finish. 6) Tested the washer - worked perfectly!! 

We had a repair man come out and diagnose the problem. This part was not in stock where he orders his parts. He was nice enough to give me the part number. I had seen the ad for Appliance Parts Inc. and ordered it online it was also cheaper than the part he quoted me. We watched the video of How to install the MCU. So we followed the very easy to comprehend video and installed it ourselves. It works and this morning I'm on my third load of clothes. 

Replaced the Motor Control Unit. Used Youtube to find a video on how to do it. Followed Directions. Done. 

Part was delivered in 2 days! My husband followed the video and had the washer running again in under 30 minutes. Would absolutely recommend for the F11 error. I was ready to buy a new washer and have never had another problem with it. So glad to have found this website!
