How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6292098 / W11202746 Electronic Control Board

Took the 6 hex screws out and simply unplugged a couple of wires off the control panel. Called appliance parts pros and gave them the part number that was embossed on part. They had it in stock and shipped it. I received it within 3 days. Plug the wires back into the part and replaced the 6 screws. 10 minutes top to repair. Highly recommend you doing this. Would have cost hundreds more if a professional had done this. Thanks !! 

I Googled what could be wrong with buttons and I could be one of two things. I ordered the control piece based on my google search. I watched a video from the website that I purchased the control piece from and installed it with no problem. 

Hubby took the electronic control apart--ordered new one (got it in 2 days instead of 7-10) Re-installed & now works like a new one. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

1st off some control buttons were not working. Replace the soap dispenser with a burned-out solenoid on it. Still no soap. Then I replaced the control board---- now we have soap. 

I removed the six screws per the video for the electronic control, I replaced the touch pad panel which turned out to be the problem, and the electronic control which I had ordered just in case it was not the touch pad because ApplianceParts said I could return it if that was not the problem. Decided to replace both since I figured the electronic control was the same age and probably was also going to go out. Took about 45 min for both since I did it "twice" to prove which part was broken. I then dissected the touch pad which is made of many layers of materials glued together and found that somehow moisture had gotten into the printed flexible circuit and shorted out the buttons. So before I reinstalled the new one I sealed many areas where moisture could leak into that area with some silicone. That took a day to dry...so I guess one could add that time to the repair. 

Turned breaker off. Removed the 6 screws, removed the washer console, unsnapped the old controller from the console, removed the attached wires, which allowed me to remove the controller. Installed the new controller following the same steps mentioned. Turned the breaker back on. 

Had to replace both the Electronic Control and Control Panel. Tried each one separately. Only worked with both new parts. Easy fix, but watch youtube on replacing Electronic Control; there are a few helpful tips on disconnections. Only tool needed is a Torx 15 screwdriver. 

Ordered new door latch and control board. Great video on repairs. Wife is happy no more doing dishes by hand. 

New control panel was simple and quick 6 screws and 3 electrical connectors
