How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016286 / WPW10174745 Control Board

Replaced control board. The posted comments, instruction and repair stories made it easy. A person commented on the new version not requiring one of the connectors to be plugged in was very helpful, I didn't have to worry at all. 

Replaced the Electronic Control Board. Disconnected the power. Removed the top of the washer and then the control board with a 1/4" nut driver. There is a tab underneath the control board that you will have to depress so that the control board will slide out. Disconnect the wiring harness from the defective controller and reconnect when the new controller is in place and secure. The correct part arrived on time and worked as promised. 

When I called my local appliance store they couldn’t schedule a time to repair my dryer since they said the control board for my Whirlpool Duet dryer was unavailable. Since I didn’t want to wait I checked your website to see if I could order the part myself. Your website confirmed that the part was not available but showed a compatible Whirlpool factory made part. I ordered the part in the evening and it arrived in two days. It was very easy to replace using instructions found online. 

Replaced control board...followed video.. simple five minute fix! 

After some research it ended up that the electronic control board was the issue. A new board was purchased on-line from AppliancePartsPros.com. And it arrived when promised. 

I ordered a new control board for the dryer and replaced it in about 5 minutes. The dryer is working perfectly. Great part, perfect match, easy to fix and saved me from purchasing a new dryer.
