Bk May 12, 2020 for Model Number mede300vw0 The dryer shows no power, no console lights or codes and drum light not lighting. We replaced thermal fuse already. Performed continuity test from the plug to the terminal block and from the terminal block to the control board. Continuity tests point to either the console control board: AP6018634 or the machine control board: AP6016286 but can not determine which board. If we have no power to see error codes is there any other way to test which board is needed here?
1 Answer BK, The light draws its power from the outlet. Make sure you have voltage present at the outlet. Read More...
Julia April 14, 2020 for Model Number WED9500TW2 My whirlpool duet dryer does not regulate any heat with any temperature setting. It gets too hot and blows the thermal fuse. We have replaced the thermistor, the thermal fuse twice, and the thermostat. My question is does the heater relay On the main control board just tell the heating element to come on or does it regulate its temperature in anyway?
1 Answer Julia, The heater relay on the machine control board supplies L1 voltage (120 VAC) to the heater element, through the thermal cut out and the high limit thermostat, L2 voltage is supplied to the element through the motor switch. The inlet and outlet thermistors are the components that control the temperature (we would expect an error code if that were the case). Based on your post information, you may want to recheck the exhaust vent pipe and vent hood for clogs and collapse, kinks, etc. then check the blower wheel and housing to make sure there are no obstructions blocking the airflow. Jim December 09, 2019 for Model Number WED9400VE0 Recently my dryer would power up, but not start. I replaced the Thermal Fuse, and that restored function. However, the dryer now gets too hot. Temperature will not modulate on any cycle mode selected, ever air only. I suspect this is what caused the Thermal Fuse to activate. Would this be caused by loose connections at the Control Board, or a failed Control Board? Could it also be a shorted Heating Element? Please advise regarding the most likely cause for excessive/uncontrolled heat, and verify the correct part number(s) to order. Thanks for your help!
1 Answer Hello Jim, you will need to check if the heating element has grounded in the heater case if it is ok then that would indicate a stuck heater relay on the main control board. The heater is part WP8544771, the control board is part WPW10174745. Read More...
Chris February 13, 2019 for Model Number MEDE300VF0 Bought new control board part #w10200473. new board comes with two plugs on end of control board that are not on the old control board. The old control board has wires that are wired into part of the case and the end of control board slides up under the wiring. the new control board looks like these wires should be in a plug to attach to top of new board. any suggestions.
1 Answer Chris, This control board would be for several models and next to the connectors will be where the connectors would attach to the board. The 2 connectors may not be necessary for your unit. Read More...

Mark December 01, 2017 for Model Number MEDE400XW0 Dryer won't start ,slam door it work 1 load then stopped again this time fault code F-70 came up what should I do next.
1 Answer Mark, This F70 code is a communication error between the boards. Check the wiring that goes between the 2 and if there are any loose connections then they need repaired otherwise will likely be a bad control board. Read More...

Edwin September 01, 2016 for Model Number MGDE400XW1 No matter what setting I put my dryer on it will run for about 15 min then shut off. it will not restart until I unplug it for awhile. Even if it is cold unless I unplug it first it will not restart. when its runs it gets hot too hot to touch on the heater element side of the dryer. its been like this for about two years now.
1 Answer Hello Edwin. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control board is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Kelly April 22, 2016 for Model Number WED9400SW2 My dryer blew thermal fuse. Replaced it and blew again. Replaced it,thermistor, high limit thermostat and fuse(both came as kit). Dryer will start but when put on air dry the element comes on. I checked element with meter and it has continuity. I don't want to leave it running too long as not to blow another fuse. Do you have any ideas? I hope its not the control board but that would be better than buying a new dryer. Thank you for any help you can give me.
1 Answer Hello Kelly. If the element is not grounded, the board is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
