How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005286 / WP1126289 Shelf Frame

Searched for refrigerator on line by manufacturer and then model number. Discovered parts picture that allowed me to identify the broken shelf part. Ordered part. Arrived in 2-3 days. Installed shelf by sliding it into place. 

I didn't have much hope for finding parts for an older, but good refrigerator until I found Appliance Parts Pros. Their web site is one of the best and the people for phone contact are helpful. In some cases the web site also has instructional videos showing how the repairs are done. My two parts arrived sooner than expected and were the correct ones. 

I previewed prior surveys on how to remove and replace the stud...that went well, it was the only thing in the repair that needed a tool. Inserted the new stud and turned approximately 3/4" turn and stud was in place and sturdy. After that, the crisper drawer slid into place and finished. 

This shelf sits on brackets and so it was nothing to remove the old, put the existing glass into the new frame and reinstall. Now the drawer slides on track as designed. The only trick is to get the correct side and I just measured the old and made sure the new was a match.

Simple. Pull draw out. Pop out glass, remove broken shelf. Install new shelf. Drop in glass and slide draw back into the track. BOOM! 

Removed and replaced stud(easy to follow video instructions). Replacement shelf fit our unbroken crisper bin and glass shelf perfectly. Did not come with rear gasket nor front metal trim (no longer available) but able to use old ones. Repair was straight forward and easy with appliance parts pros advice and customer reviews.
