How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3965227 / 8575076A Fabric Softener Dispenser

Ordered and installed. 

I watched a video and realized I needed new parts. I ordered the parts needed. The part arrived within a few days. It took less than 5 minutes to install the new parts and my washer now runs perfectly!!! 

It was simple, easy and what is the most satisfying is that it actually works great. Such a small part but oh so amazing and makes clothes smell great. Only used a screw driver to pry off the top of the center spinner and it fit perfectly. 

Purchased the part and installed it all with the video within 15 minutes. I am a 1st-time homeowner and the process was so easy. So much better than hiring someone! Will definitely come back in the future. 

Unbelievably easy, plenty of 20-second videos out there. That's about how long it takes, no tools. My only issue, and it is not with the part, was that I wasn't entirely sure that it would work with my model until I ran a load. Amana, why the heck don't you offer this as a standard option, or even mention this as an option when you buy the machine? The Downy ball is a pain to use! 

Ordered one and installed it in about 20 seconds. 

Pulled out the center cap on the washer and installed the new softener dispenser. 

Simply popped a new one in just took, maybe 5 minutes. Very simple thanks. 

Upon inspection we found that the dispenser and the inner cap were badly clogged with a very thick coating of several layers of dried on fabric softener. After scraping off the layers, we found a crack in the dispenser and a broken seal on the cap. After removing both parts and throughly cleaning the shaft it was very simple to snap the new pieces in place, no tools needed! It was a very simple fix and the washing machine works and looks great! Cleaning the area of the machine took ten times longer than the actual parts replacement. The parts were easy to order, inexpensive, and quick to arrive.
