How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4010226 / 12002533 Door Boot Seal

Watched your how to video. Took off door, unscrewed front panel, propped up top panel, removed front panel, wiring harness, boot from drum and replaced all in reverse order . Only real challenge was getting the boot on the drum. It took about 10 min to get the boot on the drum. It came off 4 times while trying to replace the wire spring harness. I finally got someone to hold one end of wire while I pulled the spring and reconnected them. ( this was a bear). I takes some strength to pull that spring. Then I connected the boot to the front panel. My advice is to line up the tabs in the appropriate slots then stretch the rubber in a clockwise manner to get all the tabs to line up. It took me a bit to figure this out. 

Watching the institution video before installing was very helpful it took less than 30 minutes to do the project. 

This was an relatively easy repair. Replaced all the plastic parts around the door and the slides. Popped off the the top of the dryer, undid the front and snapped old parts out and replaces with new.

I HAD VIEWED THE VIDEO A FEW TIMES BEFORE REPAIR PART ARRIVED, SO I HAD TOOLS AT HAND AND WAS WELL PREPARED. I HAD MENTALLY PRACTICED THE REPAIR PROCESS IN ADVANCE NUMEROUS TIMES. WHAT WAS MOST IMPRESSIVE: I ORDER PART AROUND 2:00 P.M., IT ARRIVED VIA FED-EX APPROX. 24 HRS. LATER. I HAD THE REPAIR DONE IN LESS THAN AN HOUR AFTER RECEIPT OF ORDER. WOW! WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE. ALSO, THE PRICE WAS MOST COMPETITIVE!!! 

Found that the boot seal was full of mold where the water collected and was not being drained out also the drain hose was plugged up, Texas has very hard water. 

We have had years of problems with mold on the Maytag front loading washing machine. My wife felt we should get a new machine because she was grossed out by the mold we could not get rid of by bleach etc. So I bought the replacement boot seal and watched the video. I took my laptop to the laundry room, and would watch and pause the video, do the step, then watch and pause the video all the way through the process. It went smooth and quickly. 

A straight forward remove and replace operation. The how-to video was accurate. Tools required were basic. Used the opportunity to teach my son. 

With the video tutorial on the website made the repair much easier and fast. 

Replaced boot seal. Shipping was super fast didn't expect it till the weekend. Ordered on Sunday had it on Tuesday. It was a little difficult to put on at first but if you spray it with a little glass cleaner it will slip right on especially around the door frame. And it only took an hour.. 

I watched a YouTube video on how to change it, took it apart, replaced it with the new one, put it back together and works great!!!!
