Eric K Rancho Cordova , CA October 23, 2021 Appliance: Kenmore Side By Side Refrigerator 10656689502 Broken tabs on ice door hinge. Learning-to-be handy homeowner. Ice chute kept freezing up, in trying to stab through the ice I broke the tabs that the hinch pin goes into . This kit fixed the tabs, the ice door seeping in warm air causing the icing, and the slow close plunger I didn't realize was worn until after it was replaced. Video was excellent. I had to unplug the front panel completely rather than tape it up and remove the old plastic tabs with pliers to make room for installation. Watch the video. Read More... Stephen M Isle La Motte , VT January 31, 2021 Appliance: KitchenAid Refrigerator KSRG25FKSS18 Broken ice door hinge Your broken tab ice door kit is brilliant! Kudos to the people who put this package together. The hinge on my ice door broke off over 3 years ago. On occasion, I do a search in hope there is a better solution than replacing major parts of or the door. I was amazed to find this! In my opinion, the original design and expectation of the materials used was faulty from the start. When you think of the battle the ice door fights with the cubes, nothing short of metal-on metal could survive this for long. Thank you for providing a pragmatic solution. Your video is excellent! My package did not include instructions, which is an unfortunate oversight. I am thankful I searched further to find the video as you only get one shot once the strip is open. Read More... Raynard W Tampa , FL January 10, 2021 Frost forming around ice shut and on frozen food. Took outside cover off ( not as easy as video). Found flipper door where ice comes outworn, Removed door and put a door that came with the kit on'( snaps on ). Everything else looks good. I did not use everything from the kit, just the new door. Not sure what the round black thing is for. The old black cylinder had electrical wires which I had to remove to get the old door off. The new door doesn't have wires. Not sure if this an important step or not but everything is working. Any ideas pro or con. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers, Socket Set

Frank M Wakefield , MA September 29, 2020 Appliance: Model ED5LVAXQ00 The water dispenser didn't work and ice maker chute door very loose water leaking Note: Fridge is about 10 years old...ice and water dispenser get used very frequently. First, I watched the repair video on this site to verify the problem. It was excellent and concise. So I bought the broken tab ice door kit and dispenser bracket. (This is the 2nd replacement of the bracket because the thin tabs that hold the water dispense switch broke off again.) The broken tab ice door kit wasn't cheap $100+, for only about 5-6 parts. Bracket was $16. Still not bad. and parts came in less than 3 days as promised! I followed the video instructions and everything went smoothly...except one small 'gotcha'. The $100 kit doesn't include the push nut that holds the ice chute door rod on one side. The instructions say to reuse the existing one. Well, mine fell off and disappears maybe when it broke, and I had to go find a close replacement for $0.35 at the hardware store. I took my time so it probably took 30-45 minutes; a repair person probably does it in 15 min or less, and charges you a good hour for the service call! This site had the best explanation and video and parts in stock. Used before. Saved a good chunk on a service call, that's for sure. Thanks very much. Read More...
