How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3094183 / 279570 Door Latch Kit

Latch kit had choice of devices, removed Dryer Door (two screws), removed screws around door circumference to separate door front and back. Removed old female latch, snapped in new latch. Removed male spring prong from dryer case, snapped in new prong latch. Installed door circumference screws and reattached door. New latch provided tight fit so door stays closed during operation. 

I replaced the dryer thermal fuse and that solved the problem. I also replaced the other parts as a preventative measure. Everything fit perfectly, thank you again Appliance Parts Pros! 

Replaces top and bottom door latches. It is extremely difficult to extract the existing latches - I pushed the existing bottom latch inside the door cavity. 

Replaced 2 parts 

I ordered this packed of door latch parts and they snapped right in. 

I ordered the dryer door switch and also the door latch switch just in case. The parts came within 24 hours, we watched the video, My son removed the old dryer door switch, put on the new one, and it worked. A bit of difficulty getting the plastic connectors apart, but other than that was easy. Will keep the inexpensive other part for another day. 

Ordered kit from AppliancePartsPros.com. Parts fit and dryer was operational once again. 

Replaced the dryer door latch kit. Door closes and stays closed throughout the drying cycle like it did when it was new. 

Appliance Parts Pros made it easy to find the part and the video posted with the part guided me through it (although it was harder for me than he made it look which is very typical:-). I didn't have exactly the right tool to get the old latch out. The hardest part was removing the door and screws and then rehanging the door. Female, 60's and never worked on a dryer before but I did it! I paid extra for 2 day shipping and I received it in 2 days. The instructions were not in the package and I called and they did email them right away (after they finally called me back, that did take a few hours). Overall very happy! 

No tools needed just pushed it in.
