How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3094183 / 279570 Door Latch Kit

Replaced the latch in the door.

I ordered the door latch repair kit from you. Extra shipping cost got the repair parts to me in 2 days. 

New clip. 

Removed old one easily considering the breakage. 

When we had the dryer door off, we noticed that the metal that holds the hinges was bent. Took a hammer and pounded it down flat. Put on the new springs and door latch kit. Works like new now. 

My husband can fix anything BUT washers and dryers. We ordered the part from this site and had it in 4 days (a weekend included) - my 13-year-old son and I watched the video and he fixed it all by himself! I watched some videos online where i saw videos of appliance parts pros so I came to know what was wrong with it. Ordered the parts from appliance parts pros and with fast shipping, I got it with in 2 days. Then I went to their website, watched the video, did the same steps and was able to fix my dryer with having no problems at all. Would highly recommend to try it before throwing away your expensive washers and dryers. If I am a student and can fix it, then I think anyone can do it. Do give it a try, the videos help a lot not in just fixing but in ordering parts as well. 

My elderly relative fell on to the dryer door and then it wouldn't stay latched. We assumed that the catch had been damaged and that was why the door couldn't close. The part we bought was the correct part and was easily installed after watching the video and removing the old part with a pocket knife. No complaints about the product, instructions or the timely delivery, but we were incorrect in our assumption about what was wrong. The door was bent and that's why it wouldn't latch. I fixed it by hitting the hinge with a hammer to unbend the door. Thanks for the great website and quick delivery. 

I looked up the problem on AppliancePartsPros based on past experience with a washer repair. I quickly found the solution, watched the repair video and ordered the dryer latch kit. When the kit arrived, the installation was simple and now the dryer door is staying closed during the dry cycle as it should. I ordered the kit Monday morning and it was in FedEx's hands by that same evening. Unfortunately, FedEx was a bit slow to deliver (Thursday instead of Tuesday as expected from NJ to MD), but that is purely FedEx's fault. I'm satisfied, repeat AppliancePartsPros customer!
