How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6301835 / W11156832 Lint Screen Door

I was able to replace these by removing the 4 screws that hold the lint "chute" together which allowed the 2 halves to be opened up enough to get my hands inside. The replacement doors go on with the beveled edges out and the springs on the left peg on each door. Start the peg with the spring into its hole then CAREFULLY bend the door so the other peg can be inserted in the other hole. Easy job, took all of 10 minutes. Not sure I'd even bother if it happens again as all the doors do is prevent larger items from dropping into the trap when the lint screen is out, which isn't likely to happen, particularly if you're careful. 

1. Ordered part. 2. Received the part lightning fast, i.e. the very next day! 3. Attached existing spring. 4. Removed screws on the outside and inside of the vent trap unit to gain better access. 5. Inserted the center prong into the pre-forged slot while ensuring that the spring did not fall off of the outside prong. 6. While carefully flexing/bending the vent flap and pressing the longer side of the spring against the vent trap unit, inserted the outside prong into the pre-forge slot. 7. Replaced inside and outside screws of the vent trap unit. 8. Topped a top and admired the ease of the repair. 

I followed the instructions provided by customers that previously described how they made the same repair. In addition; I ended up placing a small piece of scotch tape on the door to hold the spring in place, while I tried to place the end of the door into the hole. The spring fell off the first few times that I tried assembling it, so the tape kept the spring in place. The biggest issue was trying to get my large hands into the tight spot, where the door needs to be inserted. Even after loosening the 4 screws, it's still a tight spot. The replacement part fit perfectly. ALSO: Very quick delivery of the part. Thank you. 

Replaced it with a new part. The video was easy to understand and made the job go smoothly. 

Replaced both doors, and the springs. Pretty easy.
