How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019197 / WPW10308477 Oven Bake Element

Replaced element 

Replaced the bake element with OEM part. 

The bake element was ordered and arrived in record time. My husband did the change over and the oven works great again. Apple pies on the way. .ty

I changed both elements. 

I used the AppliancePartsPros.com trouble shooting for my range and the most likely cause was a bad heating element. I ordered a new one and actually had a replacement the next day. I followed their replacement instructions and the oven is now working properly. Great experience! 

Bought a new bake element. Because my oven is probably over 20 yrs. It took a minute to locate the model #. AppliancePartsPros.com was the only company that had a replacement. 

Replaced the oven's baking element. 

DISCONNECT POWER TO APPLIANCE FIRST In the cold oven, note what levels both baking racks are on, then remove. IF OVEN NEEDS CLEANING, NOW IS THE TIME TO DO THAT. A thin metal mounting plate at the rear oven wall is the anchor for the element. Use a flat blade or Phillips screwdriver to remove the 2 screws. Carefully pull the element forward until you see the two wires that connect the element. Both have connectors that slip off. However, due to baking residue, you may have to wiggle those connectors and pull at same time. HOLD CONNECTORS, NOT WIRES, WHEN PULLING, and do not allow connectors to touch each other. Remove the old element, add the new element. Connect wires to the element terminals and SLOWLY, CAREFULLY tuck wires behind the oven wall as you gently push the metal mount plate toward the rear oven wall. Reattach 2 screws. Replace baking racks in previous positions. Not counting the time to the clean oven, 5-10 minutes to do. AppliancePartsPros.com is my "go-to" for the correct OEM part every time!
