How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019197 / WPW10308477 Oven Bake Element

Detached the 2 screws, pulled the wire leads off with needle-nosed pliers since the connection was very tight. Inserted new part, reattached leads, re-screwed two screws. The hardest part was kneeling on the floor at an odd angle and reaching into the back of the oven. Better left to younger folks and people with longer arms! 

Replaced bottom bake element. The website helped me verify the correct part. Screws were rusty. Used an impact driver carefully. Easy easy repair. 

Purchased the part from Appliance Parts and fixed it ourselves. Super easy. Saved 849.00, the cost of a new stove.

It was pretty easy, Phillips screw driver and I watched the repair video, took about five minutes, done. 

I pulled the stove away from the wall. I disconnected the power cable. I removed the back cover to gain access to the element connection. I measured the resistance with a ohm meter and it showed open. I ordered the bottom element, online. When I received the replacement part, I replaced it. Took about 5 minutes. I tested the oven and it worked. 

Installed a new one. 

Ordered new burner & installed.
