How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6004794 / W10874836 Pantry Endcap Kit

The pin that holds the tray cover broke. The repair video was excellent. Removed the drawers and glass tray over the deli tray, then used a 1/4” socket to remove the right side panel. Followed the instructions in the video and the repair was complete in 30 minutes. 

I ordered an end cap from Appliance Parts Pros which was delivered on time. A video provided information on how to replace and the part was a perfect fit. 

Replaced right side endcap, took all of 15 min, what really amazed me I ordered the part on Thursday and received it on Friday, the wife was happy on Saturday. Have ordered part before from AppliancePartsPros.com have never been disappointed 

I ordered the part I needed from Appliance Parts Pros. When it arrived, I removed the old endcap and replaced it. Care should be taken when removing and attaching the connected parts that move to adjust the temperature in the compartment as these are delicate and appear to be easily broken. There are tabs and slots that need to be rotated so they can be disconnected without damage. 

If l had to give advise to a DIY person l would say don’t rush, pay attention to the order you disassembled the old part and take a photo of the old part if necessary 

I replaced the side panel inside. It was pretty quick and easy. The part was a perfect fit. I didn't have a socket small enough for the bolt head, so I used a pair of needle-nose pliers. It would have gone faster if I had the right socket. Having to pull out the drawer and shelf above to do the repair also gave me a chance to do a long-overdue cleaning inside the frig. The inside of the frig now looks new again. 

Installed the new endcaps. The temperature control on the right side was a little bit of a pain to transfer but it all worked. I had to clean up a spill from a few years ago before putting the new parts in otherwise things would have gone a little faster. BTW, the parts were shipped very quickly and arrived faster than expected!
