How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6016381 / WPW10179146 Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve

After watching the video on your website, I ordered the part (about noon) and had the part in my hands the next afternoon. Your material indicated a 15 minute repair - and I thought "yeah, for an experienced repairman". But it did not take any more than that. Doing it myself save me over $250 as the appliance repair place I called indicated the part was over $260 and there would be a $100 service call. 

Replaced the water inlet valve 

Removed cardboard back and removed to hex nuts that held the bracket. Disconnected water lines on the valve. Connected the existing water lines to new valve and re-installed new bracket. Added the main water line from the wall and tested for leaks. Did not take me more than 20 minutes. 

Troubleshot, with the help of your web site videos, purchased and installed new solenoid valve component. Worked just fine - back in the ice making business, thanks.
