Yay for YouTube! Since I'd just moved into this house, I didn't know where the water filter was on the fridge. Went to YouTube and searched Whirlpool fridge filter change and, sure enough, a couple of kind souls had taken the time to video tape the process.
Since this house was built in the early 50's, the hardest part for me was determining where to turn off the water supply since it wasn't under the sink like it would be in newer homes. I found the water source in the basement and followed it to the valve and turned off the water leading to the fridge and drained out the water that was in the copper tube.
After that, it was a breeze! Just popped out the filter per the YouTube video and popped in the new one. And of course, turned the water supply back on and ran some water through to make sure that the water was using the new filter. Yippee skippee!
