How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5983563 / EDR3RXD1 Whirlpool Everydrop Refrigerator Water Filter 3

Purchased a new filter and the service was great. 

Order a new filter and a new fan. It’s a shame they came a day apart when they said they come the same day. 

Ordered a replacement ice maker. Removed the old unit by using 1/4” nut driver to remove screw from the bottom right rear of the unit and removed the clip holding the unit in place, disconnected the electrical plug and swapped out the unit. The cup that receives the water is taller than the original but you can flex the rubber inlet tubing enough to get the unit in place. Working fine now. Before ordering the replacement I confirmed the “full bin” light beam was not the problem nor the inlet valve or that that supply line was not frozen, all other common problems. 

I was told that my Ice maker or frig was out dated or discontinued and they can no longer get the ice maker. I ordered one for an apartment in a building that my company maintains and decided to look mine up for grins. I found that this company actually carries them and decided what the heck, worst is that it wont work. I received the icemaker and filter with in a weeks time. I installed it that weekend and go figure, after many years of buying ice and having it in bags in the freezer we have a ice bin full of ice from our new icemaker. I' am so glad I found APP from my brother and investigated. Took me only ten minutes to remove and install and by the morning we had fresh ice. 

Bought a new filter and installed it with just one problem of not hearing the final click until I gave it a good push and then I heard the filter engage. 

Replaced filter and cap.

I ordered and installed "Complete Icemaker Assembly" Also, I ordered parts one day and received them the next day.
