How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4399659 / 8269144A Drain Hose

Put the new one on. 

Replaced with new hose. 

Found the web site on line by searching Maytag, model number and water draining problems. Saw that high percentage cause is the drain pump and the youtube video on how to replace it was excellent. Ordered the exact part as shown and it arrived within 2 days as stated. Followed the youtube video and replaced the pump and put a new drain hose in as well to be safe. I do not do lots of home repairs but with the detailed video, I was willing to try. Every detail needed was shown and matched exactly how the dishwasher was designed. Saved me lots of money on a repair or buying a new appliance. Highly recommended and will use the service again if needed. Thank you. 

Took apart, replaced the check valve and also replaced the discharge line. 

Replace old hose with a new drain hose. 

Replaced drain line 

Easy fix to replace the lines. Hardest part was R&R of the 15 year old dishwasher. The rest looked like new, so instead of replacement, I decided replacing the lines was well worth the risk and hope to get another 10 years from it. 

Hired someone. I watched a video how to replace the DW hose and it looked pretty involved so I thought I'd better hire an expert. Video showed someone disconnecting the water and electric and pulling the whole unit out of the cabinet. The repair guy managed to get underneath the unit and replace it without much trouble. He was done in 30 minutes. Applilance Parts Pros was great. Was easy to find the part online, and it was reasonably priced and delivered in two days. I am happy how things turned out. 

Replaced the hose 

After snaking and manually trying to clean out the hoses, nothing worked. We figured we had nothing to lose by trying to replace the hoses. They were so gunked up after 14 years it was probably good hygiene anyway. We replaced both hoses -the whole repair took less than 30 minutes and the dishwasher drained like a champ.
