Paul V Ashland , MA September 16, 2023 Appliance: Model WPW10190961 / AP6016625 (MFG./SUPPLIER) Ice maker was leaking when water refilled. I watched a Youtube video on how to remove the ice maker. I did the removal to determine why it was leaking. The coating on the ice mold section had failed after 10 years and was corroding. I decided to replace the entire assembly. I initially ordered the unit from another supplier but the delivery was ~1 month. After waiting two weeks they pushed the delivery out another month so I cancelled the order. I again searched suppliers and found "AppliancePartsPros.com" and they had the unit in stock for $5 less than the original supplier! So I ordered it and it was here in about 5 days. I installed the new assembly, again following the Youtube video, I took about 30 minutes to install. Turned the water back on and Viola! Back in business making ice. Note: since the water was off for a few weeks, just to be safe, I flushed water through the front water dispenser for about a minute and I dumped the first set of ice cubes. Read More... Brad S Palm Harbor , FL October 10, 2022 The icemaker leaking icesickles hanging down in freezer. The refrigerator is an 18-year-old Kitchenaid. Replaced solenoid valve first but did not correct the leaking icemaker. Replaced Ice Maker (15-minute job) and ice maker works GREAT. Interestingly when I replaced the solenoid I had a tiny leak there. The new solenoid took care of that. So for less than $300 and an hour of my time replacing both parts and cleaning the coils and fan, I have basically a brand new Kitchenaid Refrigerator that is around $2,800 new. They don't make 'em like they used to. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Adjustable Wrench, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
Bob T Ada , MI June 28, 2021 Appliance: KitchenAid Refrigerator KSRP22FSSS00 No ice Ordered a replacement ice maker. Removed the old unit by using 1/4” nut driver to remove screw from the bottom right rear of the unit and removed the clip holding the unit in place, disconnected the electrical plug and swapped out the unit. The cup that receives the water is taller than the original but you can flex the rubber inlet tubing enough to get the unit in place. Working fine now. Before ordering the replacement I confirmed the “full bin” light beam was not the problem nor the inlet valve or that that supply line was not frozen, all other common problems. Read More... Christopher B Wilmington , DE September 24, 2020 Appliance: Model KENMORE COLDSPOT Icemaker was leaky and erratic and its coating was flaking into the ice being made Serviceman could not get new icemaker and put in a refurbished one that he told me might work until they could get a part. It didn't make ice and was broken as well, so I Used the model # on my Kenmore Cold Spot to search on Appliancepartspros.com for the exact replacement part, pictured here and ordered it and within 3 to 4 days I had it at my front door. Since I pay a service contract, I wanted them to at least install the brand new replacement part that I purchased while letting me see how it was done. It now works like when it was first purchased makes ice every two hours or so. Waaaay Cool. I highly recommend this way especially since so many fridges on the market to get your correct part. Jacob S Lincoln , NE July 21, 2019 Appliance: Maytag Refrigerator MSF22C2EXW00 No ice being made I purchased the kit first but when I took it apart per the instructions, I noticed it had a burnt contact. Upon looking at the tray, the coating was missing in some areas which led me to believe that the reason it had a burnt contact was due to it having to push ice harder as it would stick to the metal more. I ended up getting the complete unit and had it installed in 5 minutes and it's working like a charm. Top-notch! Read More...
