How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6037202 / W10918546 Gas Range Oven Igniter

I fixed it myself in about 15 minutes. 

New glow igniter, since old one wasn't getting hot enough to trigger the gas controller...was quick fix 

Simple fix. Turn off gas and unplug oven, take all the racks out. Two screws and a plug undo the old part and swapped in the new one. Good idea to test it before you reassemble the oven. I was lucky it was the ignitor, I had a hard time trying to find a matching thermal sensor. 

Part I needed came quickly and in a half-hour or less I had it installed using the online video and the oven is back up and running. So far great. 

Replace it with the new one 

Replaced both the safety gas valve and the igniter. After replacing the safety gas valve it turns on but after the initial firing and reaching the temperature the burner would not come on again. I noticed that the igniter is really weak with an orange to reddish in color. So I decide to order a new igniter and once it was installed the oven works like new again. 

After calling around to local appliance repair companies and getting ridiculous repair quotes, I decided to fix it myself! What they wanted to charge, I could have bought a new oven for $100 more! So I looked up the part on AppliancePartsPros and completed the repair myself after watching the helpful repair video. The repair only took about 15 minutes and works great! Thanks AppliancePartsPros! I also replaced a igniter on the stovetop. After a minor modification that worked great too! 

New Igniter installed. 

Followed the video instructions. 

First I wanted to say ordering the part I needed was over $20.00 cheaper than any other offer I could find. The part arrived quickly and had the adapter attached. Perfect, shut off electric and gas, removed the back of the oven, removed the screws holding the old ignitor. Disconnected it at the adapter - used the same screws to install the new ignitor and attached the adapter. Put everything back and turned everything on Oven works perfectly
