How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6037202 / W10918546 Gas Range Oven Igniter

Maybe 5 minutes. 

I took out the oven igniter and installed a new one. 

After I was told that the service call fee to come out to my house was $150 I looked online for a possible do it yourself fix. I found that the problem was a bad igniter switch. After I received the part in the mail it was a quick fix to install the switch. Turned the oven on and it worked! 

Replaced the Oven Igniter Assembly in about 20 minutes 

I replaced the oven igniter. FYI... This is my second time using Appliance Parts Pros. Com. I've got this website locked in! 

The video was excellent and the part was held in with two screws and an electrical connection which was east to connect and disconnect. The part came in less than a day. Could not be happier with the project. Thanks 

By watching the Repair Video listed with this part, this was a very easy repair. I know next to nothing about ovens, but I was able to switch the parts and put the panels back together in less than 20 minutes. If you're more coordinated with a socket wrench, I'm sure you could do it much faster. The only difficulty was with how my oven is built and not with switching out the oven igniters. Was very pleased with this site's part, shipping, and price!!! 

My Mother in law was in the middle of baking a chicken when her oven just stopped working. I went over to investigate the next day. I opened the bottom draw to look in and see the igniter. when we turned on the oven, the igniter was glowing bright but no flame. Next thing I did was to google the problem. This is where I found Appliance Parts Pro. I read there that the igniter sends a signal back to the safety valve. If the igniter is weak it will not tell the valve to turn on and send the gas to the burner tube. Since the Igniter is less expensive than the safety valve, that's where I started and that's all it took! Simple fix and my Mother in law is trilled! Thanks 

First I went to Youtube and found a video, which indicated that the part was most likely the igniter. I watched the video on this site and decided I could do the repair myself. It went relatively smoothly although we initially put the part in backwards and it didn't work. So I went back to the video and realized the mistake and changed it. Viola! done! Thank you so much for your help.
