How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6037202 / W10918546 Oven Igniter

Replace the gas igniter 

Reviewed a couple of YouTube videos. Searched for online replacement part. Found AppliancePartsPros and ordered OEM Whirlpool oven ignitor. Placed order for this part on a Monday afternoon and the part arrived on my door step on Tuesday afternoon ! That was amazing. I then followed the YouTube video instructions. The stove unit in the video was exactly like ours which made it very easy. Removed old ignitor, replaced new. One of the small bolts holding the ignitor had been stripped from the factory which made removing it difficult and replacing it even more fun. Tested, all was good, ignitor glowed and then the gas flow began and oven heated perfectly. Wife was excited she could clean behind the stove, bonus points :) 

Replaced igniter as suggested. Most of the time was spent vacuuming crap and food from behind the oven. I knew it would be bad. but 9 years of crumbs really build up. GROSS! Price on this was much higher than amazon, but did not want to go there. 

So thankful for fast overnight shipping! (we’re a family of 8 and use the oven a LOT). My husband swapped out the igniter part very easily and also installed the new clip onto our stovetop burner and we have a fully functioning range again! It works great.

New igniter came within four days. The video from the supplier showed exactly how to replace it. With a minimum of tools I was able to replace it.

I ordered the igniter on a Friday and it was delivered on Saturday. I repaired the oven the same day and I was cooking that evening. I cook alot. So not having a oven was an issue.
