How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6020997 / WPW10404412 Door Latch Assembly

Watch video, ordered part. When it arrived replaced it, works perfectly now. Thanks a lot you saved me a lot of money. Was prepared to buy a new dishwasher. Thanks again. 

Watched a YouTube video- took out the screws, unplugged the old latch from the 2 wires; plugged in the new latch, put the screws back and it worked perfectly. Sears wanted to charge me $348.00 and I fixed it myself for 80$ (expedited shipping) otherwise 43$ would have fixed it!!!! 

I replaced the thermal fuse following the video instructions and power came back.

Ordered new touchpad, latch mechanism, handle. 

The door latch was not the fix. The job itself was made easy for the helpful video associated to the part. It would be nice to add helpful trouble shooting techniques to avoid unnecessary purchases. I didn't find anything on your site regarding the control panel. Hoping that Appliance Parts Pros return policy is good.

I order the latch and it was very easy to replace all you neeed a star screw driver to open the door cover to change the latch. 1. undo all the screws. 2. remove the plate softly. 3. undo the 2 wires attached to the latch. and unclip the latch to remove. 4. clip the new latch and attached the wires . replace the plate and put back the screws. all done!!!
