How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6012288 / WP8269117 Dishwasher Door Latch Handle

Watched the video from Appliancepartspros. Video was easy to follow and super helpful. Ordered handle, two springs from Appliancepartspros and installed it. It was straight forward. Appliancetpartspros are great. You saved me a bunch. 

Ordered part and it came the next day. Repair video was extremely helpful in allowing me to do the repair myself. Very pleased with overall experience given calling a repairman would have taken a week longer and cost more.

My husband had watched the repair video prior to ordering. Had confidence he could do the job. The day the part arrived he viewed the video and reattached the two parts and then replaced the fixed part and we were ready to sit down to dinner knowing we didn’t have to do all those dishes by hand. Removed 8 screws on the upper portion of washer and this opened up the handle area. From there on it was an easy fix. For DIY no problem. 

I removed the six T15 screws attaching the control panel to the door. I removed the control board from the old panel and transferred to the new one. I removed the broken door handle and swapped it over to the new panel. Reattached the new panel to the door, turned on the power and ran the test sequence and everything passed. Repair complete! 

Removed the upper control panel, Removed broken handle, Installed replacement.handle 

Replaced handle with spring. 

Bought new part from appliance parts pros and fixed it.
