How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005780 / WP21001950 Motor Assembly

Put a new motor on. Quick, smooth and professional fix and works great. Replacement part was identical to original. 

My husband took it apart and replaced the motor and it works perfect now. 

Removed old motor, ordered new one from Appliance Parts Pros and replaced. 

We decided to order a new motor assembly because our spin cycle was not working. Water would not drain and it sounded like it was trying to start, but couldn't. The capacitor connection was not giving any voltage using the multimeter. New motor has been installed and was a simple, easy fix.

Ordered a new motor from APPros.com, received it in less than a week, disassembled and reassembled with the new motor and, Voila! Back in clean clothes. Thanks, APPros! Repeat customer over several years. 

After smelling a burnt electric smell, I unplugged the washer and opened it up. You could see a lot of black residue under the motor and the motor would not spin even though you could spin the shaft with your hands. Replaced the motor and replaced the belt since I was already removing the old one. Works great! 

We decided to replace the snubber ring as the motor was going to be out for replacement, which was such a good idea. It was heavier work removing the springs but the previous ring had worn so thin there was metal on metal during spin and agitation cycles. The new motor and snubber ring have the machine running like new!
