How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005780 / WP21001950 Motor Assembly

I suspected that the thermal overload switch in the motor was tripping after the motor operated through washing several loads because it would restart after a rest period. I ordered a new motor and belt and replaced both. We've only washed one load since replacing the motor so we haven't stress tested it yet.

Checked belt under washer, ot was fine. Attempted to turn motor by hand, this failed as motor was locked up. Ordered motor and replaced same following repair video instructions. Washer works fine once again.
