Washer wouldn't start final spin and only made a hum which was followed by the smell of burning. Pulley's on the transmission, motor, and drain pump were all moving freely, I had recently replaced the belt so I knew that wasn't the problem, and I verified the washer was coming up off the brake when it was spun manually. Was able to replace the motor fairly easily (easier than replacing the springs for sure) and I'm now a few loads into a working washer! Video on this website for motor replacement was my best friend which is actually why I ordered from this site over another that would have saved me a few dollars! In either case spending the $140 for the motor was definitely cheaper than a $600 equivalent washing machine :-)
