How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6022694 / WPW10531320 Drain Pump

Replaced the drain pump. There is a video on the site that shows you exactly how to do it. An easy repair. No tools are needed to replace the actual pump, but you will need whatever tools are required to remove the dishwasher from under the counter. For me it was only a screwdriver. 

I asked a question here and got and answer, a part #, and a link to an installation video. I looked at my dishwasher and realized that I didn't even need to remove it from under the counter. The replacement of the pump took 5 minutes...I couldn't believe it and it couldn't have been easier. It now runs as good as new. I had a great experience with this site. Thanks. 

Watched the video provided on the website which was very clear. The only change is I felt had enough access and clearance without pulling out the whole dishwasher. So I simply disconnected the wires on the old pump and twisted it out. Water did pour out so make sure to have towels ready. Then, simply lined up the new pump, pushed it in and twisted it into position. Make sure it is lined up and you're good to go! Reconnected the wires and that was it. So far it has gone through one cycle and was so much quieter and dishes seem cleaner.

Noisy drain pump. I replaced the drain pump and it worked perfectly. 

I tried to reset it with the 123123123 etc...nope...Thought it might be a drain pump....took out the pump...not difficult (AppliancePartsPros has a video)...found a piece of broken glass with one of the rotors broken.... put it back in... ordered the new part... It came fast... Replaced the broken with the new.... and we're back in business...

Initially I used YouTube to learn how to troubleshoot the problem. At first I ordered a part from Sears. After waiting almost 4 weeks to receive it, along with a virtual chat and 2 phone calls, I decided to look elsewhere. Your part was ordered on July 27th and arrived at our doorstep on July 30th. OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!! 

Needed to replace the drain pump. Ordered the part from appliancepartspros, opened up the kick panel which gave me access to the drain pump. Just had to disconnect the wiring, twist the pump out, clean the housing. Used o-ring grease on the new pump. Twisted into place, locked, connected wiring. Was done in no time.
