How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4009649 / 12002744 Evaporator Fan Motor Kit

I bought the evaporator fan motor and replaced this unit. It took me about 45 minutes to complete this job. 

Installed new evap motor. Although the picture on your website was outdated, so it looked different than the one I received. Called in, talked to Jason L. Who researched it and informed me the manufacturer had changed it a little but it would still fit. Not only was he right he was a pleasure to work with. Thanks Jason. 

Made sure to watch the how-to video on your YouTube channel. Ordered the part and it came in one day! Fifteen minutes and I was up and running. 

Evaporator fan quit. Ordered, received and installed new fan, problem resolved. When ordering the fan, AppliancePartsPros stated the fan motor design had changed, that's it, nothing more. The fan housing had to be modified. A small portion had to be cut out to make room for the motor coil to fit the shroud. I also purchased a fan assembly, too but even installed, the fan was still too tall in the housing and would scrape the chimney duct. The center of the fan was drilled out to allow the motor spindle to "peek" atop the fan assembly. 

I replaced the freezer fan that blows cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator 

Replaced the fan motor, super simple took maybe 45 minutes to clear everything out, pull panel and motor and replace. 

First, what I got a new evaporator fan motor was not exactly like in image. But once I installed a new one, it works perfectly. That's all it matters. 

Before the parts arrived I was about to move everything in the fridge to the extra one in the laundry room when I noticed a large ziplock bag on the top shelf center against the back vented cover which I think was the cold air from the freezer cools it down. Moved the bag and 2 hours later the fridge was cold so I assumed I didn’t need to install the motor. The door gasket install was a snap after I watched your video. I was a happy camper. Now I need to call Tomorrow for permission to return the fan motor. 

I replaced the fan motor. Note: be careful that you connect the correct plug to the fan assembly(two wires). The plug that connects to the defroster tube is identical(one wire). Thanks for the prompt delivery & helpful video…
