How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6024038 / WPW10757217 Dishwasher Circulation Pump Motor

Ordered a new motor. Came complete with impeller and new rubber seal. The hardest part of the job is pulling out and replacing the dishwasher unit itself. 

I you-tubed how to do it and found step by step video instructions. If I had the new part when I started it would have taken me an hour. 

Ordered Circ. Pump on a Saturday shipped Monday arrived Tuesday afternoon...... Awesome! It took me an hour and a half to rip the machine apart and install the new part. The hardest part was removing the machine from the tight enclosure. Never done this before,"Very Easy" to install. I will be doing more business with APP in the future if I have issues with my washer/dryer/dishwasher. Thank You for the quick ship time I really appreciate it. Nader 

Replaced motor 

First I checked the pump for contaminates and only found small insignificant pieces of trash, not enough for this noise. I then took the bottom plate off of the front of the dishwasher and identified the noise coming from the motor. Pulled out the dishwasher and removed the motor. Once the motor was out and you spun the shaft it was obvious that the shaft bearings were bad. Ordered a new motor/pump assembly and in 2 days it was there. Put in the new motor and it has run great ever since. 

PartsPros correctly troubleshot the required part from my description of what the machine was doing and delivered the needed part in 2 days even though I chose the cheapest delivery method. Thank goodness I got a second opinion and didn't order from the guy I talked to at SearsParts. I paid half their price and had my part in less than half the time. 

I contacted your website, and after watching the installation video, I ordered the part I needed (water circulation pump motor). Right before starting the repait, I watched Tom's video again and after pulling the dishwasher out from under the kitchen counter, I couldn't believe how easy was turning the appliance upside down, and be able to replace the motor in no time. In fact when I pulled it I realized the insulation "blanket" had been bunched up since newly installed. When I pushed the dishwasher back in, I made sure the blanket was in place and over the whole appliance, when I ran it on a full load to test it, It was about twice as quiet as before! Thanks to your vides on replacing the ASM Motor Impeller (for $120.03) the task was relative easy and successful. Your video saved us from buying a new dishwasher at a cost of over $600. Thank you for your great web site and your how to make the repair videos. 

I followed the instructions on the video -- it was perfectly explained and demonstrated. 

After verifying that the grinder was in good shape and reviewing the self-help videos, I decided the humming/whine I heard must be the bearings in the main pump. I always liked this appliance because it did a great job of cleaning the dishes was VERY quiet until the humming/whine began. I reviewed the repair videos and decided to repair it myself. Although the washer is five years old, the repair was worth the effort. It a few hours to remove and replace the dishwasher from under the counter, but the motor replacement itself only took about 10 minutes. Everything went great. I also had a chance to give the dishwasher a thorough cleaning inside and out. It's been running quietly and efficiently since the repair. It's like having a brand new machine!
