Mark T West Springfield , MA January 15, 2017 Loud grinding sound from microwave turntable motor Very simple fix. Unplugged the microwave and then unscrewed about 10 screws form the bottom of the microwave that hold the lower cover on. Simply disconnected the old motor, removed it, and then replaced it with the new one. Took about 5-10 minutes altogether. Georg B Salford , PA February 12, 2016 Appliance: Model KHHC2090SSS-1 Stupid human trick not watching what buttons you push!! microwave instead of timer for 15 min ? 8sqr inches of burn through the plate!!! it stalled the motor which fried I went on the internet forums for a consensus. Your advice matched. I got the only real microwaveable (white) paint advertised. Did meticulous sanding and cleaning for the bonding of the paint. Make sure there is NO oily residue! I lined the entire interior with poster paper. I made an EXACT cutout of the INSIDE circle of the track for the rotating support (@10 in.). Since taping is impossible, I weighted the edges with 3/4 in. nuts to get a seal. Then did 4 MIST layers 2hrs. apart. EXHAUST the room with a box fan. Wear a mask. Spray at 90 degrees in short bursts as high as possible. The over spray will cling to everything. It has an epoxy in it. Covering surrounding surfaces is easier.Clean immediately! Oven top cleaner on glass. De-Solv-It for the rest. Let cure 24hrs. before using. This turned out great even though my interior was gun metal grey. Installed the new motor (bottom filter panel/motor uses 10+15 torx bits) and parts. Total cost @ $100. The other choice? How much is a new micro/convection oven? $500 and up. I don't think so. Mark F Wrentham , MA January 02, 2015 Very noisy microwave when running I diagnosed it down to the motor that turns the glass tray inside then microwave. I then took the bottom cover off the microwave, removed the motor and got the part number from it. I then googled the part number and the first thing that showed up in the search was from AppliancePartsPros,, so I ordered the motor and really liked the compatibility feature that made sure that the part would fit the model of microwave that I had. I received the part in about 2 working days installed it and everything ran perfectly. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
