How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4011179 / 12112425 Washer Pump And Drive Belt Kit

New belts, new pump and new lid sensor. 

We replaced the Tub Bearing and the Mounting Stem Repair kit. The Pump and Drive Belts. The repair was not quite as easy as the video. I did have the correct spanner wrench but the stem nut wouldn't budge. Had to chisel it off along with the bearing on the transmission. The nut is aluminum and chiseled fairly easily. The washer is an old Maytag A412, series 02. We love this old machine and were prepared to do what it took to get it working again. The problem was the tub bearing had seized causing no spin and belt failure. Ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros.com and we received them in two days. The washer works great again! 

I watched the video on AppliancePartsPros.com and determined the replacement of the belt was easy. So I decided to replace 29-year-old belts before they failed. I'm a fairly capable DIYer and have found AppliancePartsPros.com very helpful with their how-to videos and online schematics. Plus they ship fast! 

Followed the great video provided on the Washer Drain Pump and it went smoothly. Both of my hose clamps were very rusted and one of them failed, so I had to get a replacement. 

We replaced the timer.

Just watched a couple of YouTube videos on Maytag washer drain pumps and Maytag belt replacement. Very easy repair. The type of Maytag washer repaired is the same type as those used to use public commercial washaterias. We saved from having to either call a repair person or buy a new washer (which would not have been as good quality as the one we currently have). We received the parts from AppliancePartsPros.com on a Saturday morning less than 24 hours after we ordered them. The parts were OEM parts, not the cheaper knockoffs sold elsewhere. Though more expensive, the OEM parts give us peace of mind, since the failure of the washer drain pump caused water to leak from the washer. 

Got new belts and followed the video which was very detailed and easy to follow. While it was just a belt change they detailed nicely how to get in and how to properly get belts on the pulleys. 

I was able to diagnose the problem with the washer, with the help of APP. I have completed several repairs in the past, thanks to APP, and I am so thankful to have discovered their website. The cause of my problem was due to worn belts and weak motor mount springs. I was able to watch the repair video and I was confident that I could easily complete the repair. I had all of the required tools and simply followed the step-by-step procedure to remove the old belts and remove the motor mount assembly. After that, I replaced the worn parts, successfully ran the washer and then re-installed the front washer panel. I am always so happy how quickly the needed parts arrive from APP, when they are listed as in stock. We love this old Maytag and now it is running again, good as new!!
