How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5272754 / W10421247 Drain Pump

I easily found the part on your site, ordered the part, it arrived in just a couple of days. I was able to easily fix the dishwasher myself! 

Bought a new pump 

12 year old Amana dishwasher. Dependable! But wasn't getting dishes as clean as in the past. Decided it would be less expensive to replace worn parts, than to buy new. Proved to be a good decision! Replaced, drain pump, filter, all 3 arms, the docking station and the door latch. Noticed a couple of things right off the bat: easy to recognize which part you wanted in their website. Good advice in the reviews. Great videos on how to accomplish repairs and when it came to installing the parts, it was like playing with tinker toys. Some great engineering! Had to get on chat line about putting a part in, quick and positive response. I was on and off in under 5 mins. This is the place to buy appliance parts and it is really, really simple to DIY. I am enthusiastic, as I recognize good service, its rarity and its expense - I want to be sure that they and you know it works and I love doing business with them! 

Watched the video, it was very informative. Video should advise repair person to check water line on bottom of dishwasher before reinstalling. I didn't and had a leak when I turned water back on. I had to do it all over again to tighten water line. 

We purchased the complete handle assembly, the water pump, have a extra Oring one did come on the new pump, I had a broken wheel replaced. The repairs were simple enough put dishdetergent on O'ring & baffle than it went all together well. Nice to learn these pumps weep just like a car waterpump, for we have automotive repair experience mostly. The color coding on the handle assembly was quite beneificial it went together nicely also. We needed 2 Torx drivers I believe a T 10 & T 15, used a screw driver to seperate the wire clips on old handle. No more water on floor, no more water in tub basin nice clean dishes again. The door now opens & closes well. Thank you 

Shut power, disconnected drain tube, took out three screws, disconnected snap in wiring and reconnected everything. 

I disconnected power and water after turning them both off. I then turned the washer on it’s side and removed and replaced the drain pump. 

I reviewed information on the website for common problems and found the drain pump is a likely culprit. I verified by removing the dishwasher from the cabinet and checked connections and doordash line. I ordered the parts and installed them following the directions from the website. 

Verified that the lines were clear. Verified the drain to the pump was cleaned out. Went online and verified the part, watched the video and ordered the part. A couple of days later I replaced the drain pump and it ran without a problem. 

Removal and installation of pump was very easy. Actually took more time to reinstall dishwasher into cabinet.
