Rich January 11, 2023 for Model Number MDBH968AWS1 dishwasher has water left in tub after wash cycle..also the water smells bad..dishwasher is not draining completely.
1 Answer Rich, the drain hose and drain pipe would need to be inspected for partial clogs. If there are no partial clogs, the drain pump W10421247 would need to be inspected for debris that may be preventing it from draining properly. If there is no debris, the drain pump is failing. Unfortunately, this part has been discontinued and is no longer available. Read More...
Kyle October 29, 2020 for Model Number JDB1100AWS Drain pump seems to be working as far as getting the water out, but there is recently some water left after a cycle. Is there a backflow valve that is broken and allowing what's left in the drain line to come back into the cabinet after it pumps out? I would think that if the drain pump were shot, then it wouldn't pump anything out. Don't want to replace it if I don't have to. All drain lines seem to be free of clogs.
1 Answer hello Kyle, first, suggest you run a dishwasher cleaner like Affresh first through the unit to eliminate any detergent/hard water build-up that can cause possible oversudsing that can lead to poor draining. Next check the drain hose is not restricted, next would be to replace the drain pump, it is part W10421247 which has with it the inlet port flapper and the outlet backflow preventer. Read More...
Richard September 10, 2020 for Model Number mdbh968aws1 I have a little bit of water in the bottom at end of the cleaning cycle. Checked the drain hose at disposal, it's clear. I hear the drain valve working at the drain cycle and see water going through the disposal. Removed sprayer and plastic filter pieces, all ok. I did not check the drain hose at the pump end under the dishwasher. There is only a little water on the bottom, it empties if I run the cancel/drain button again after done. thnx
1 Answer Richard, the drain pump W10421247 would need to be inspected for any partial clogs at the openings as well as where the drain hose connects. If there is not a partial clog, the most likely failure would be in the drain pump if it will operate for 2 minutes at the end of the wash cycle. Read More...

Mark October 29, 2018 for Model Number MDB6601AWB Intermittent drain pump operation. No clogs, Thought pump was bad, could not hear it run and it would not pump out. Removed pump and pump will run dry. Checked voltage to pump and getting 108.5V. Is this voltage not too low? Would this indicated a problem with the control board?
1 Answer Mark, that voltage is on the low side, check voltage at your house outlet, if it is ok, I wuld recommend replacing the control board. Read More...
1 Answer Joseph, You will want to test the drain pump at the start of the cycle to see if there is 120 vac getting to the drain pump. If there is power then this will be a faulty drain pump. If there is no power then this will be a faulty control board. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Jed. Make sure the drain hose is not clogged. If it is clear, then test for power to the drain pump. If there is power there, and it does not run, replace the drain pump WP6-917641. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Gayle December 07, 2013 for Model Number mdb6601aws Makes a buzzing solenoid sound while washing or rinsing. work fine.Is this the impeller?
1 Answer Gayle, It's not really the impeller, but you most likely have a " hard" object in the chopper chamber under the impeller, that the chopper blade can't macerate and dispose of. You'll need to remove the pressure dome, impeller, and pump filter to access and clean out the chamber. Read More...
Lovina July 26, 2013 for Model Number JDB1100AWS I have a Jenn Air Dishwasher (model no. JDB1100AWS) and have been experiencing problems with drainage. I checked the line that goes to the garbage disposal and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I've noticed that when I run a cycle without detergent the water drains just fine but as soon as I add detergent the water doesn't drain from the bottom of the dishwasher. Thanks for any assistance you can give me.
1 Answer Lovina, Check and make sure the detergent and rinse agent(if used) are not "sudsing" during the wash or rinse cycles. Newer style pumps, don't react well to suds in the water. If that's not the issue, you'll need to remove the lower spray arm, filter assembly, guard and dome, remove the drain baffle, and replace it WP6-919119. Read More...
Kevin December 03, 2012 for Model Number MDC4650AWB1 My portable dishwasher which is 2 years old suddenly started to leak. I didn't notice any water stains or wet areas from below except on the valve that the pull out hose attaches to directly and there it was around the clip any ideas? is there another area I should look?
1 Answer Kevin, You may want to remove the top, and check the air/water inlet assembly WP99002645 on the left side of the tub, for spray back, or splash over, the water, could run down the injector hose and the valve or clip would appear to leak. You would also want to check and make sure the hose clamp is properly installed and has a "tight" fit on the hose, and tighten the fill hose connection 1/4 turn tighter. Read More...
