How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023350 / WPW10605057 Pump And Motor Assembly

Replaced the pump & motor assembly 

Purchased pump and motor assembly and replaced. Easy to follow youtube videos were great. Pretty easy job for someone with basic fix-it knowledge. Under an hour start to finish. Leaked the first time because I re-installed drain pump incorrectly, but easy to fix that. Under $200 to fix sure beat buying a new one. 

Replaced the pump motor assembly and the water fill check valve. The AppliancePartsPros video showed how to replace the parts without having to remove the unit from underneath the countertop, versus a competitor’s video which showed removing the dishwasher from underneath the countertop. This wasn’t necessary and it was quite easy to do the repair with the unit in place. The cost to have had a local appliance repair shop do the work would have been uneconomical; it would have been less expensive to buy a new dishwasher. By doing the repair work ourselves, not only did we save many hundreds of dollars but we feel we helped the environment by keeping a perfectly functional dishwasher from being landfilled needlessly. 

Removed and replaced sump assembly due to leak. Also replaced drain pump while in there. 

Replaced entire pump and motor assembly. Shaft seal on diverter motor is fixed and is not replaceable. I decided it would be best to replace all of it due to age and cost. 

After running a test cycle and verifying the wash pump was not coming on, ordered the sump and pump. It took around an hour to complete the installation, but I moved slowly and did a lot of cleaning of the interior as well. Worked perfectly. 

The machine had stopped washing, the drain pump worked properly. First checked that the water inlet valve is functioning properly as suggested by your technician on the chat. After I confirmed that, I ordered the pump and motor assembly and watched the YouTube video you posted: excellent quality! All important points were covered and performing the task after watching the video was easy. The machine is back in working order. 

We replaced the Pump & Motor. 

Through internet research and comparing symptoms, I was able to determine that the pump and motor were not working. I watched the AppliancePartsPros.com video that details every step to replace the assembly-that was extremely helpful! I was able to put the model number into their website to get the correct replacement. The job was a piece of cake thanks to these guys. 

Replaced motor assembly. The AppliancePartsPros.com video was very helpful except that my dishwasher was attached to the sides of my cabinets rather than the top since I have granite countertops. Once I figured out how it was attached to the cabinets the rest of the pair was fairly easy. The only exception is that my dishwasher is hardwired into a junction box behind the unit and the power cord was too short to bring the dishwasher all the way forward so I improvised and turned it sideways and set it on its back perpendicular to the cabinet.
