How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5650269 / W10536347 Washer Drain Pump

Replaced with new one, which seems to work, but the pumping action is pulsating. I don't remember the old one pulsing. I've got my fingers crossed. 

Determined that the pump was always running when it was supposed to, but frequently was not pumping. Diagnosed an impellor problem, and knew that to fix a busted $.50 piece, I would have to replace an $85.00 pump. Ordered the pump and got it next day with standard shipping. I watched the video supplied, and it helped a lot with the sequence of things, such as attaching hoses and placing clamps before screwing the pump in place. Pay attention to how the new splash guard goes on, as I turned it over and around quite a bit before lining up the mounting holes. (I didn't have the video with me as I worked.) 

Watched the video and replaced the drain pump.

Bought a new drain pump installed checked operation ok. 

Replaced drain pump in about 15 minutes. 

I found the youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4OLG47B3A0&t=90s) and ordered the part from the link in the video. It arrived in less than 2 days. The instructional video was very helpful. Got the old pump off and new pump on with no problems. Because my washer was full of water, I figured out how to open the hood, pull out the basket and scoop all the water out of the tub before tipping the washer onto its side.? 

We ordered the replacement pump from AppliancePartsPros and used their video and replaced the pump! My washer has life once again! I orderd the correct pump and when it got here i decided to replace both of them since they both were 12 years old..so it worked out.
