How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5650269 / W10536347 Drain Pump

Original drain pump had a crack in the housing, probably due to the pennies I found in the pump. The impeller blades were mostly gone. New pump arrived on time, took ten minuted to replace. Problem gone.... Videos on the web were great. Part Number W10536347 (AP5650269) replaces W10217134, W10049390, 2392433, 8542672, PS5136124, W10155921. 

Took it apart, found leak removed part to find part #. Ordered the part. Received part in less than 24hrs. Installed ourself. Doing landry again 

I watched the video on Appliance Pro and purchase their drain motor. Problem fixed. 

After attempting sealing with waterproof silicone as a temporary fix, a complete replacement was the only way to do it correctly. 

I researched problem on utube. Googled where I could get the part. Found the exact part at appliance parts pro and watched the video on how to do the repair. That video was so good that even this 80 year old widow was able to do the repair myself in less than an hour. 

Changed out water discharge pump 

Wife took apart the back after trouble shooting inside of washing machine to drain. She took back off and replaced the pump herself 

Ordered the drain pump. Watched the DIY video, installed it. Works great now. 

Replaced the unit with an OEM manufactured part for $120..... we will see how long this one lasts ....longer, I suspect. 

Replaced the drain pump with OEM part. Easy. Hardest part was orienting the [obvious afterthought] plastic/paper motor shield.
