How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5650269 / W10536347 Washer Drain Pump

Replaced the drain pump with part from appliance parts pros. Part arrived next day and easy fix if you're handy; two hose clamps and three bolts. I had to watch the repair video twice to get the paper "shield" oriented correctly. 

Replaced the drain pump. I think that I’m going to replace the recirculating pump as well. The young lady I talked to was knowledgeable and the part came the next day. 

First, my husband and my son removed the basket to determine if any more coins or clothing items had escaped into the outer tub... this was a bear because the spindle was corroded. Once that was out (no further coins or any lost socks, etc were discovered). The new drain pump was replaced in ten minutes, my husband cleaned the basket, outer tub, and removed the corrosion of the spindle and I have a brand spanking clean washer! Btw, the pump arrived in less than 2 days! 

Replaced with a new pump. My biggest problem was installing the water shield which was not on my washer, I had to go back to the instructional video twice to finally figure out how to position it. Maybe in the future, you could include a printed copy with the part. Otherwise, it was easy.

Tech diagnosed it. We ordered the part. It came in a couple of days. I put the part in the day before Thanksgiving.
