How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6004933 / W10876600 Washer Drain Pump

Assumed pump had gone bad. Looked up on YouTube how to replace, ordered part, and easily fixed. Washing machine works great. Daughter had left small facial cleaning pad in pocket and it had gotten lodged in old pump. 

Remove and replace the drain pump. 

Replaced pump 

Did a search on the code to troubleshoot it. That's when I came across AppliancePartsPros.com put in the model number of my Maytag washer and there were a few different parts of machine diagrams came up. I clicked on the one for the drain and there were multiple parts to choose from. found the pump and the price was surprisingly reasonable and the shipping was fast. I ordered on Wednesday at about noon and was at my door the next day. they saved me a lot of time and money doing it myself so very pleased. 

Used Google to check what this message means, most responses pointed toward an issue with the drain pump. I removed the both pumps for testing. The pump on the bottom of the machine did not always start spinning when hooked up to a power cord with spade terminals crimped on. It also did not feel right when I turned by hand. Installed replacement pump and all working OK now! 

Replaced the drain pump. 

Ordered the new pump from AppliancePartsPros.com. Pump was shipped fast. Three screws and a hose clamp and we were back in business! 

Came home from vacation and needed to wash clothes, and my washer didn’t work. Turned out to be a drain pump, after major research and contacting a friend of mine. Pleased with the part and this company. As far as the drain pump installation, it was easy. Just make sure you get all the water out of the washer first. I didn’t, and I had a mess. 

Replaced the water pump. Easy to do, the biggest challenge was to drain all the water out and get the back off the washing machine. there was a broken knife blade inside the old pump. 

Bought a new water pump and installed it.
