How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6004933 / W10876600 Washer Drain Pump

It was the drain pump. Took of the back panel. Drain pump was under the tub. Easy to remove. 

Found nail filing bit in the pump and pump blades were worn down quite a bit. 

Replaced water pump. that took care of the problem. 

I replaced the pump. 

Had to to empty the water out of the washer by hand. Removed wet load of clothes. Tipped washer and removed drain pump and ordered new pump through this site and reinstalled. Worked perfectly, up and running great. I have purchased several OEM parts thru this site and always works out great! 

Manually drained water and replaced motor. Most of the "2+ hours" was me figuring out what was going on and what parts were needed, not having professional experience. 

Removed washer drain pump, notice the spin blades inside did not have resistance which they should and would pop out when opened. Disconnected original pump and replaced with new one. Only needed to remove 3 bolts to remove and disconnect the power pin. Also some pliers to remove the 2 hose clamps. 

I honestly took a guess based on the symptoms. The diagnostic mode allowed me to test each cycle type and see that everything worked except the drain cycle. Made a decision to just start with the pump and see what happens from there. 

Replaced the drain pump. Part was exactly as described and worked perfectly. Whirlpool Cabrio high capacity top load washer. 

Replaced the drain pump. Replacement isn't difficult at all. Getting the water out of a full washer because the old pump had failed was more fun. Getting the right part quickly was amazing!
