How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6023956 / WPW10730972 Washer Water Pump

Received the drain pump in 2 days after I ordered it, which was a lot sooner than expected. I saw the video on your website and replaced the unit myself. I was very easy and took about 30 mins. Thank you for the instructional video. 

Replaced a bad drain pump and removed and cleaned hoses attached to the drain pump while I had it out. Paid extra $10 to have it a few days early. Arrived in 2 days. Pump is a perfect fit. Video on the AppliancePartsPros.com site is spot on perfect. Best $130 I’ve ever spent. Cheaper pumps on amazon but I didn’t trust them. 

Replaced pump and filter assembly. Took about 20 minutes start to finish. Machined is much quieter and works great once again. I did have to replace two hose clamps along the way, but I had them on hand, so no big deal. 

After draining the water (the hardest part) and checking and cleaning the filter, machine did the same thing. Ordered the correct water pump through Appliance Parts Pros. This was by far the easiest repair, since the water pump was in the lower front of the machine. Disconnect both hoses, disconnect the plug connection, unscrew 2 hex head bolts from the underneath of the machine, slide entire assembly to the right and it's out. Just a note, there is only about an inch clearance under the machine, I propped up the front of the machine about 4-5 " to get to the two bolts, and to insert & tighten new ones. Put everything back together, plugged washer back in, perfect! 

Ordered water pump and replaced. Easy peasy with the video for this gal..yes!! A girl did it! Only thing different was a screw clamp had to be puchased from hardware store since a pince clamp had been used on smaller hose opening. 

Replaced the water pump. I got a clue about the problem from a Google search and reading comments on appliancepartspros.com. Watched the video on how to replace the pump. Ordered it and installed it. Took less than 30 minutes. Out of curiosity I dismantled the old pump which seemed to be intact and working. I found that the impeller was loose. It had jiggled a hole where the shaft rests. The impeller could tip to the side and one of the vanes was worn down and the housing was also worn where the vane was rubbing. I don't know how it worked at all and surely wouldn't have lasted much longer. Noise, like a terrible vibration, has been going on for months. 

Thanks to your How-To video what could have been an hours long project turned into less than 15 minutes. My husband was getting ready to take the washer apart when I said hold on, they have a video that shows it being super easy. He followed the instructions without incident. Thanks for having the videos on the parts site. 

Quick easy fix to replace the pump and filter housing. My only issue was receiving the part on time. It took a week to get the part and no expedited shipping offered when the order was placed. 

Followed check list, I found in google. Everything but drain pump worked. Replacement part came in the mail super fast, even though I picked least expensive shipping option. Watched the video prior to ordering to be sure I can fix it myself, with tools I got already. Replacing the pump was easy, connecting the hoses took a bit longer. I’m a female and squeezing the clamps, using the big enough wrench, was a bit of a struggle because I have small hands. Other than that, the project was a breeze AND I save $200 by not using the repair guy. This site is going to be my TO-GO-TO site, next time!
