How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3093452 / 239087 Rear Drum Felt Seal With Adhesive

Replaced drum supports (one was broken), rear seal & belt. It was easier with two people. Videos were very helpful, thanks!

Looked up the part on AppliancesPartsPros.com. Ordered the part. Installed now it works like new.

Ordered support drum kit and felt seal kit. 

Replaced wheels and the bearing rear seal. 

I have been chasing a low heat problem on my old Kenmore gas drier. I first ordered and replaced the gas coils and while there the flame detector and the igniter. The flame went from being on 3 seconds to 10 seconds every minute. I then replaced the operating thermostat and the flame stayed on 15 seconds per minute which reduced the dry time for a wet load. The repair guide advises you to ohm the parts but I suggest replace them all if you have no history of being done. You see, the flame time will depend on several sensor readouts. If they are marginally ok they will show acceptable when you ohm them but the compound tolerances may barely enable the flame for a couple of seconds. (Electrical components that slowly die with reduced performance). Be sure to watch all the videos related to your problem and take notes of the parts needed. Replaced the rear drum seal and rollers, also replaced drum belt. 

Repair was very simple. I followed the instructional video and didn’t have any issues. 

Our dryer is Atlantas 10-12 years old if not older. Dryer started to have problems turning due to belt slippage. It also squeaked due to worn roller bearings. I have repaired some of my older appliances in the past, but paid well more for the parts. I plan to complete repairs in the next couple of days. I received all of the needed parts extremely quick and at a very reasonable price. Thanks APP for providing everything ,quickly, at a very reasonable price and accurately.
