How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3873614 / 280140 Drum Seal

Using the video's I took the Dryer apart and found a Drum Seal was the problem. I decided while doing the Drum Seal replacement to do more maintenance so I ordered one Drum Seal, one Outlet Housing Seal, one Seal and the Dryer Repair Kit. The parts arrived two days after ordered which I thought was really fast. Using the video's. installing all the parts was not a problem. The hardest part of all the work was getting the Drum Belt properly placed on the tension pulley. 

Reviewed how to do the job on your videos and the job went well. No problems! Allowed time for glue to dry! 

Watched the how to video that appliance mart pros sent me and tore mine apart just like that and installed the new one just like it. Very easy fix 

Replaced broken heating element. My voltmeter also had zero ohms on the thermister so I replaced that has well. The new thermister also showed zero ohms. I probably didn't need to replace that but my dryer was already taken apart. Our dryer broke 1 day before our Disney family trip. I ordered the parts before I left for the trip and the parts were on my doorstep when we got home from the trip! Perfect!! 

Ordered the kit and the correct belt, and the felt seals. It was delivered the next day. The culprit was the white idler pulley. I could have saved a ton of time and replaced it alone by just removing back of dryer.The kit fits so many brands and types, that I had to figure out how to get apart, although I did find instructions in the dryer control panel. Video was really helpful though. I was really disappointed that Maytag decided to use such a cheap pulley in a $1000 dryer. It is not a bearing, they just rub on each other until they start to make noise. Next time I will buy a bearing (Mcmaster) and replace only that. 

Ordered drum seal. Was a little apprehensive at first . I watched the repair video and thought what the heck! Easy squeesy !!! Thanks a Bunch. 

I watched the AppliancePartsPros repair video and took the dryer apart. Once the dryer was apart I could tell it needed a new drum seal and both front drum rollers needed to be replaced. I ordered the parts late on a Tuesday afternoon and had them in hand the next day. I easily replaced the three parts after again watching the repair videos. Bottomline, I had a great experience with AppliancePartsPros!! 

Replaced both front and back drum seal. Followed the instructions from the video on AppliancePartsPro.com. 

Followed online video from all pro appliance. Simple, well illustrated video. 

New seal installed with included glue
