How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007406 / WP240775-1 Motor Housing Seal

Replaced both parts and readjusted speeds. 

Thanks to the excellent videos along with my experience as an aircraft component mechanic, I was able to replace the a number of major parts, including the armature, field assembly, brushes and 3 gears. Took my time, got it back together and set the motor speed on the first try. I'm very happy, because now my wife is very happy too. She's had that mixer for over 30 years, and now it runs like new. Thank you all for your help. Top shelf company and staff! 

Replaced the phase control board, the speed governor, the speed control plate and worm gear. The tutorial videos posted by AppliancePartsPros.com were key to completing the change-outs without issue or problems. 

I replaced the speed plate control. At first the mixer didn't work with the new speed plate control. I saw one of the contacts was bent, it could have happened when I removed it from the package. Once I put bent the contact in place, the mixer worked fine. The videos about tuning the speeds were very helpful! I have owned this mixer for over 30 years and it never ran better after I replaced the speed control and tuned the speeds correctly. 

My daughter and I purchased a second-hand kitchenaid mixer that would turn on, but only had one speed, not the ten it was supposed to have. We watched a video on this site and figured we needed a new speed control plate (and we ordered a new motor housing seal as well as long as we had it apart). The new part worked as advertised, and turned our bargain mixer into a working machine! Thanks! 

It went from repair to redo/customize quickly. As the mixer was old, but had sentimental value. I completely took apart the kitchen aid mixer. I took the case pieces to a powder coated for a new purple coating. As this was being done I decided to purchase new motor parts as the mixer is older and was at times struggling. I disassembled the mixer one year prior to powder coating. When it came time to assemble and ‘fix’ I really needed the videos on here to help guide me to make sure everything was put back in correctly for it to work like new. And I can say that is exactly how it works! 

Ordered the parts and then by watching the videos, was able to fix it with no complications. Mixer works great now. Thank you. 

Watched several repair videos here which describe mixer problems and learned that the phase control board was most likely the culprit. I ordered it and a new cardboard housing seal for good measure. Parts came quickly, the video instructions were clear and easy to follow. Mixer works like a charm now. 

Speed control plate, phase control board, housing seal and governor were replaced. Followed videos for replacement and adjustments. Easy to understand, follow and perform repairs. had to adjust (reform) main power contacts to connect when first speed was selected. contacts were bent in the OEM Package, probably from shipping or handling. easy adjustment, compared new to old. Speed adjustment was easy when following the videos. Thank you for providing the tutorials. 

I ordered the parts took the piece apart. As I was grabbing the tension spring with my cloth it came loose and went inside. I tried fishing it out but eventually the whole spring came out! So I had to take the mixer off the stand take the top apart down to the gears! It was very simple to reattach the spring, put the mixer back together and finish the repair. It was helpful to watch the video especially when it got to setting the speeds!
