How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6012237 / WP8268433 Spray Arm Seal

Replaced upper arm which was cracked at the seam, tried gluing it first and that didn't work so replaced and it solved the problem. One of those issues that could cause enough frustration to throw out a perfectly good washer, now it works as good as new.

Removed the upper basket and turned it upside down removed the old manifold and replaced it with the new one. Also replaced the spray arm seal while I was at it. Placed upper basket back in dish washer and good to go. 

Replaced both spray arms 

Replaced all leaky parts including the wash arm that send water to the top rack. Most parts are just snap-in and one required a single screw. Very easy job. 

Replaced the above parts, cleaned out the sump by the food grinder, cleaned out the upper sprayer, and added a couple of orings to remove some play in the middle spray arm and inlet tube for the middle spray arm. 

The upper spray arm assembly on my 15-year old dishwasher broke. I found the parts easily and the exploding diagrams that were shown were helpful to make sure I was identifying the correct part. It took about 10 minutes to fix, including time to figure out how to pull the top rack out. The seals were purchased to replace the existing ones, one with some cracking and the other sort of warped. The parts came in two days, not the week that was stated. I was happy. 

Replaced food grinder and heating element. Screen in food grinder was more than 50% blocked due to broken grinder. Heating element was not working after something had fallen and melted onto it, breaking ceramic coating. Videos were very helpful.
