How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5737110 / W10612022 Felt Drum Seal

I replaced all the parts related to the rotation of the drum with the exception of the motor . 

This ended up being very simple thanks to the wonderful videos on Appliance Parts Pros. We just followed the directions and had no problems at all. Including videos with parts is a great way to do business! Quick notes: 1. I used an oscillating scraper and a Dremel tool wire brush to quickly remove the glue from the old felt drum seal. 2. A shop vac is very useful any time you open up the drier. 

I lubed the rollers and shaft, while it was apart I replaced the worn parts: the belt felt drum seal and the bearing ring support. Performs as designed again. 

Ordered the part from appliance parts pros and it quickly arrived 2 days later. very simple to find the part on the website and the additional fix-it video that was available with the part on the site or even on you tube, was very helpful. one video had a good idea about holding the belt on with closepins and then applying the glue which i thought was a good idea. the instructions that came with the part were very clear. it was a simple repair but with the liquidity of the glue itself i know that it would have been a mess if i did not have the video help. all in all took 30 minutes. thanks guys. will look to you for parts again. the part even cost less from you then it did from several other sources even with the shipping charge added. thank you again for that. david y. 

Replaced seal according to the YouTube video 

Yes changed the felt and belt and is working great now. 

REPLACED THE FELT AND SNAP THE NEW BEARING RINGS IN PLACE. IT TOOK 2 HRS BECAUSE THE GLUE HAD TO DRY FOR 1 AN 1/2 HRS. 

My dryer is a Kenmore heavy duty/super capacity that we purchased new in 2003. I still have the paperwork on my machine and was able to match the replacement part to the part number in my paperwork. I ordered the replacement seal and watched the video on the same page. The dryer came apart as described in the video. I was careful to pay attention to the route of the belt before removing it from the pulleys. The most time consuming part of the whole repair was removing what was left of the old seal. Once that was done, I applied the adhesive (included with the seal) and put new seal in place. After allowing the adhesive to dry, the drum went back into the dryer with the belt around it. I did have my husband help with this part so I could make sure the belt was back where it belongs. After getting the dryer completely back together it was running nice and quiet. Drying time is shorter and it has been fixed. I am completely satisfied with the part I ordered, shipping time was next day, and the video was super helpful. I found this repair to be pretty basic and easy. I highly recommend the parts and helpful videos of this site. 

Replaced idler pulleys, belt tensioner, and felt drum seal. I could not really determine which part(s) were bad, so I replaced all of them
